How to Put your HEART in your HOME: Creating your Own Photo Wall Design
Supplies Needed:
You will need
- Pictures
- Frames
- Command Strips
- Extra Decor (if wanted)
For this project you can do more with it if you want. You can include things such as shelves and nicknack decor pieces. You get to chose what style you want to show.
Editing Photos:
You can edit photos however you prefer, but we do recommend editing all of the photos in your space the same way. This will help to keep your space cohesive. You also do not need to spend any money on this. The iPhone offers editing in the photos app. Other great apps we recommend are Tezza, Lightroom and Fotorus. Each of these apps have free and paid options, but are not necessary to complete this project. To make photos look really sharp, putting all your photos in black and white can make the space look a little more elevated.
Design Layouts:
There are several different layout you can use to start out your photo wall. You can take these to help getting you started and then add your own personal touches.
Structured:
This layout is very straightforward. All of your frames will be the exact same size and shape. They will all be evenly spaced apart. A great way to help make sure everything is equal is to plan this style out with painters tap. I would recommend smaller frames for this style so you can fit more pictures.
Diverse:
For this style, you will get to pick a few different frames and you can include both horizontal and vertical pictures. This will have some planning behind how they are places. You do not want to place the same two frames directly next to each other. Similar frames should be diagonally across from each other.
Organized Chaos:
This one is my personal favorite because you have the most creative freedom. I would recommend to have the most diverse outcome is to find one funky frame or unique mirror to include in your mix. Like the diverse style, I would still recommend not placing similar frames directly next to each other. You can also include floating shelves with this style and place nicknacks on them.
Overall, be creative with your photo wall. No two photo walls are exactly the same. Have fun using these tips to help put your HEART in your HOME.
