Resource"Cool"
In reality, most of us are ballin' on a budget. Today we're gonna talk about how to flip simple wooden furniture. Furniture can make or break a room, and color can be everything.
Sanding
With all wooden furniture, step one is definitely sanding. You can either start with a belt sander or bad, or you can take the project on old school with sand paper. We recommend that you start with a lower grit, maybe 120, and then move up from there depending on the finish you want. If there are any dents, make sure to fill them with wood filler then sand them down to your desired smoothness.
Priming
Painting is completely optional, but if you're gonna do it, priming is KEY. It's all up to personal preference on whether you use a latex or oil based primer. You can find the differences by simply reading the can. Make sure to pick a primer that can be easily sanded down. Depending on the area of your surface, you might need to do two coats of primer. If this is the case, you will want to sand in between each coat.
Staining
If you want a pretty stain, you can completely skip priming. With primer, you will want to apply your desired stain WITH the grain. After applying the stain with a cloth, wait 15 minutes, then wipe up the excess stain off the surface with a clean cloth.
Painting
Always use two coats to get your desired color. If applying to a large area, use a paint roller. With a small surface, use a brush. If you want a silky cover, apply polyurethane after painting.
Boom. You're a pro flipper.
