Let's face it, we've all been there. College dorms, small apartments and starter homes, none of them are what we would call "spacious." Today we're gonna tackle the topic of making the most out of your small space.
Contrast! Contrast! Contrast!
One easy way to make a room feel bigger than it actually is, is contrast. Balancing light and dark colors throughout the room gives our eyes something to constantly look at. Much like in a graphic design, the more our eyes move, the more interested we become.
It's Lit
Lighting is also über important. Having multiple lamps instead of one large light source can balance the light throughout the room, giving the allusion of an open space. This, combined with as much natural light as your room allows, will give your small space much more envisioned room.
Be an Organization Sensation
If there's one thing we all know, clutter can be suffocating. Finding creative ways to hide our junk will be the next step to creating a larger space. Although this can be hard, the use of baskets, hampers and cabinet organizers can give you loads of new space. Clean surfaces make everything better!
