5 Weekend Projects
You’ve made it through another week. Whoo-hoo! With your weekend on the horizon, check out our ideas below for projects you can complete on your days off.
Build closet shelves. Many closets come totally bare, making them unfriendly to organization. Shelves don’t have to be complicated. Using simple shop tools and less than $100 of supplies from your local lumber store, you can outfit a small closet with shelves or rods to fit your needs.
Check your air filters. The forgotten project of many homeowners, having clean air filters will help you make a positive impression on potential buyers and allow you and your loved ones to breathe easier.
Organize your attic…or garage…or chest of drawers… Let’s be honest: we all have a cluttered, hidden area in our homes we don’t want others to see. Organization doesn’t come easy for everyone, but committing time to sort your belongings will speed up how long it takes you to find things or pack when it’s time to move. Grab some boxes, Sharpies, and white labels to categorize and label your belongings and then get to work.
Prepare flower beds for the winter. Will your perennials survive the upcoming season? You can make sure they do! Check out sites like HGTV and Better Homes & Gardens for practical tips on how to winterize your flower beds.
Clean baseboards, walls, and ceilings. Dust is literally everywhere. It creeps in unseen and then makes its home with you. Don’t let it stay! Start with your ceiling, move down your walls, and finish off the project with wiping down the baseboards.
